Creating Keepsakes Scrapbooking Magazine November 2008
I got my Novemeber issue of Creating Keepsakes, and already I’ve read it cover to cover. This is one of my favorite scrapbooking magazine. Well, it actually is my favorite scrapbooking magazine right now. I get 3 different magazines, and I tend to vary which one is my favorite depending on the trends they are featuring or where my own scrapbooking style is heading. For example, for a while Creating Keepsakes was focusing on heavily embellished, complex page layouts- pages that would take me hours to complete. They have since changed their focus to more simplified layouts that still showcase scrapbooking designers, but are much more doable for scrapbooking hobbyists.
So back to my current issue of Creating Keepsakes. I confess that I love reading Lisa Bearnson’s “Founder’s Note.” I read it every issue. I’ve been following this magazine since its premier issue, many, many years ago, and Lisa always talks about her family and her life in her monthly editorial. I love the personal touch she brings to her scrapbooking ideas.
My favorite article this month is a practical tips feature on borders. This is one reason I subscribe to scrapbooking magazines. While I do enjoy looking at other scrappers’ layouts and admiring them, I always find a least one great scrapbooking idea that I can use right away on my own scrapbooking pages- usually many ideas!
“On the Borderline” gives you 10 ideas to create page borders with your stash. I’m all for using up the pieces of my scrapbooking stash. These ideas are easy, quick and beautiful. They vary from braided fabric to patterned paper scraps. Pick up a copy of the Creating Keepsakes November issue today and see for yourself.
