Many of the world’s scrapbookers are now taking their time in creating and decorating special scrapbooking rooms, which become the workspace used when they are going at their favorite hobby. This comes as a natural need because there is a big chance you end up with many scrapbooking supplies and you need to take advantage of the organization features that are currently available. It goes without saying that if you get organized all your scrapbooking ventures will go a lot faster and you can achieve this by creating a special scrapbooking room.
You do not always need to turn an entire room in a scrapbooking office. You can only use a corner of a room or as much space as you actually need. The first step you need to do is purchase some type of flexible work surface, an element that is crucial for creating scrapbooks on. You could also utilize a desk but the advantage of a flexible work surface is that it will not take up as much space and you will feel better when working on it when compared with a regular desk that is not linked with scrapbooking.
Most scrapbookers will also work during nights so you also need proper lighting. You could purchase one of the many lamps and different lighting options available for offices. We have noticed that lighting used by architects for their work desks are very suitable for a scrapbooking room.
Now that your actual workspace is defined, you will also need to purchase storage features in order to hold all your paper and cardstock. In most cases individuals will need storage capacity for 12X12 sheets and some for different sizes but you can also fit them all in a nice 12X12 paper storage desk that comes with around 30 levels. In most cases this is more than enough for most scrapbookers. Another storage facility that is needed in scrapbooking room is a place to store ribbons, paper clips, embellishments and any other extra decorations you use. In most cases a small piece of furniture is enough to store these. Add similar storage spaces for pens and pencils.
Most scrapbookers are always working so the workspace will not always be very tidy and organized. On the other hand, the main elements need to always stay organized and the scrapbooker needs to plan ahead and make purchases before they are actually needed. This goes for scrapbooking rooms as well. If you think you will soon need something else to be included, be sure to purchase it before it is needed!
