Read This Before Using Animal Scrapbooking Supplies

Experienced scrappers know that creating great pages involves your own personal, unique touches.  There are no right or wrong answers or hard and fast rules to follow.  However, if you’re going to be incorporating animal scrapbooking supplies into your pages, there are some things you may do well to consider first.  As with any other type of theme with scrapbooks, it’s pretty easy to go overboard and have your animal scrapbooking supplies overwhelm your pages.  So, let’s consider a few good pointers before you begin.

Does It Fit the Theme?

First, ask yourself if the page you’re creating is appropriate for your animal scrapbooking supplies.  Using them for pages about a trip to the zoo, or for pictures of your puppy, is a great idea.  However, putting them on random pages simply because you like the designs or think they’re cute is probably going to look confusing if nothing else.

Are You Overdoing It?

Animal scrapbooking supplies are very easy to overdo because they’re usually very cute.  It’s tempting to put them anywhere and everywhere.  However, you don’t want to overdo it.  Be selective so that you don’t detract from the page’s focal point in any way.

It may be best to try your ideas first before gluing or stamping anything.  Go easy on your embellishments, and then stop and step back.  Look at your page objectively.  Remember that you can always add more a lot easier than you can take ones away!  So err on the side of caution, as they say.

Do They Match or Clash?

If you have pictures of your dog or your cat, then of course you would want to use animal scrapbooking supplies that complement these.  It makes no sense to use zoo animals for your house pets, or vice versa.

Also, you don’t need to be too obvious with these as embellishments.  If you have a picture of your dog, usually some bones, dog dishes, and leashes are fine.  You don’t need stickers of other puppies as this may clash with your own dog.

So, try to consider all these pointers before you begin using your animal scrapbooking supplies, especially if you have a lot that you want to incorporate in your pages.  You want a unique set of pages, but you don’t want to overdo it either.  If you keep these thoughts in mind, you’ll have a beautiful scrapbook.
