Some Tips for Hosting Scrapbooking Home Parties

Many who love the hobby of scrapbooking are finding that it's something you can pursue on your own or can do with friends and family that also create scrapbooks.  To that end, some who have hosted scrapbooking home parties have found that these are a great way to indulge in your own hobby while still enjoying time with others.  But before you just pick up the phone and invite your fellow scrappers over, remember a few things about hosting scrapbooking home parties so that you can be sure that everyone involved will have a good time.

One thing is that some people are more creatively inclined and able to come up with original ideas than others.  Don't be surprised if some show up with paper and embellishments but without any idea of what to do with everything.  When hosting scrapbooking home parties you might do well to research some sample templates and designs online and print them off as inspiration.  If you have a home computer and printer, be prepared to print off some additions or wording for everyone as well.  You might also want to ask your friends and family if they have any particular themes or pages they want to create.  Some scrapbooking home parties may revolve around a certain theme such as a baby album or a fall vacation, but sometimes everyone will just have a collection of generic pictures they just want to put in a scrapbook with no preconceived idea of what to do with them.  While a theme is good for scrapbooking home parties you don't want to be too specific as not all your friends and family may have photos or items along those lines - not everyone has babies, not everyone has vacation photos, etc.

Usually everyone that comes to scrapbooking home parties brings their own materials but be prepared with some extras, just in case.  You'll probably also need to provide glue and tape and small items like these as it's often easy to forget to bring these.  And remember to make it casual and fun - some people take their scrapbooking very seriously and don't like anything else happening when they're putting their albums together, but most scrapbooking home parties mean chatter, background music, and maybe even some wine or cocktails!  The whole point is to have fun while you indulge in this hobby so keep it casual.
