Creative Ideas for Finding a Scrapbooking Job

The ultimate in a career is doing what you love.  As a scrapbooker, you have many choices to turn your passion for scrapbooking into a job or business.  Whether you want the independence of self employment or the security of traditional employment, the scrapbooking industry has a range of opportunities.

1. Local Scrapbook Store Staff-  Your local scrapbook store employs cashiers, inventory stockers, display designers and a variety of other positions depending on the size of your store.  Check not only the small independent scrapbooking chains, but the larger national chains as well.

2. Independent Scrapbooking Consultant- Be your own boss.  Scrapbooking consulting companies like Creative Memories, Close to My Heart, Stampin' Up and Memory Works offer business opportunities to be self-employed selling their products. Check the profit margins and wholesale discounts, as well as, the start-up costs and termination fees, if any, before you sign a contract with any of these companies.  Sample the products before you commit to selling them.

3. Online Scrapbooking Store- The online scrapbooking industry has a lot of competition, but if you are familiar with website shopping carts and managing inventory, this might be the job for you.  Find a quality supplier and a website designer to create your own internet scrapbooking store.

4. Scrapbooking Teacher- Have you been scrapbooking for years?  Are you usually the first to try out a new scrapbooking technique?  Try teaching scrapbooking classes.  You can offer scrapbooking classes to your local scrapbooking store or continuing education college in your neighborhood.  You could even combine this with a scrapbooking consulting business.

5. Scrapbooking Design Team Member- Many online scrapbooking websites have scrapbooking design teams.  These teams are typically given the same page kits and asked to interpret the products into page layouts.  The company uses these layouts to demonstrate the use of their products to customers.  Design team members can be paid positions, but more commonly they are paid in part or in whole with scrapbooking products.  Do a google search for "scrapbooking design team member wanted" for current opportunities.

6. Scrapbooking Blogger- Design your own scrapbooking blog and monetize it with google ads and scrapbooking affiliate links.  Some existing scrapbooking blogs also hire paid bloggers.

7. Scrapbooking Artist-  Be a scrapbooker for hire.  Provide a service to scrapbook others' photo and memories.  Many people would love to have their photos in a scrapbook, but either lack the skill, organization or time.  Advertise your services in the newspaper, your local scrapbooking store or online.

8. Scrapbooking on Ebay- Sell pre-made page layouts on ebay.  You could also assemble your own page kits with idea sheets and sell them on ebay.

There are many other possibilities like starting your own monthly scrapbooking page kit club or organizing scrapbooking vacations.  Use your imagination and put your scrapbooking talent to work!
