Tying Together Scrapbooking Page Layout Ideas and Snow

If you love winter sports, chances are that sooner or later you’ll wonder how to tie together your scrapbooking page layout ideas and snow.  After all, you want to celebrate your love of winter but not overwhelm the focal point of your page or overdo your embellishments in any way.  And it’s very easy to do either one or both, when trying to tie together even the simplest scrapbooking page layout ideas, and snow scenes.  So, how to do it?

Choose One or Two Focal Points

As with most pages, you want to choose just one main or two or three simple, complementary focal points as your first step.  Make sure you leave enough for embellishments, as these are going to really tie together your scrapbooking page layout ideas, and snow sports or snow scenes.

Choose Your Colors

Colors have a lot to do with a page’s overall theme or layout, and chances are you already know this.  Warmer colors like red, yellow, green and brown are usually used for summer scenes or those depicting warmer weather.  When thinking about how to tie together your scrapbooking page layout ideas and snow scenes or your snow sports, opt for cooler colors like light blue, obviously white, and even soft pink.  One good idea to show some personality in these types of pages is to try making your snowflakes this particular color, as opposed to all white.  Of course, this will be your own personal decision.

Add Some Sparkle

Look at any picture or landscape of untouched snow on a sunny day, and what do you see?  Chances are the snow is sparkling in the sunshine.

One way to bring that element into your scrapbooking page layout ideas and snow scenes that have landscapes is to add some gold or silver glitter to the page.  This mimics that sparkle of the snow in the sun.

Add Creative Embellishments

One of the reasons that scrapbooking is such a creative hobby is that you’re only limited by your imagination.  Try creative embellishments to add some personality to your scrapbooking page layout ideas and snow scenes or snowy landscapes.  Try using cotton as snow, or cutting out your own snowflakes like you did when you were a kid rather than punches, stamps, or store made embellishments.  Add strings of yarn to represent your knitted accessories.  Let your imagination run wild, and you’ll soon have some great pages.
