What to Do Once You Find Scrapbooking Sites

Are you trying to find scrapbooking sites that are useful and practical and that offer great tips and new techniques?  If so then you're not alone.  Scrapbooking is a very popular hobby today because it's creative, unique, and personal, and because it's also very budget friendly as well.  Many try to find scrapbooking sites that give them tips on how to create scrapbooks when working with kids, since it's a great thing to do on a cloudy or rainy day when everyone is all cooped up inside the house - and everyone has had enough of those video games!  As a matter of fact there are probably many reasons why you may want to find scrapbooking sites that are useful for you and for your own hobby.  But once you do find those sites, then what?  There are actually some things to keep in mind so that you get the most out of those particular websites and so that you can also give something back to everyone else that is browsing them!  Let's take a look at some things you can keep in mind as to what you can do once you find scrapbooking sites that you consider to be useful.

For one thing, you do want to check out samples of other pages that have been made up and posted by other scrappers once you find scrapbooking sites, but don't copy them completely.  One of the great things about scrapbooks is that they are completely unique and original to you, just like a painting or other type of artwork.  If you were a painter and you studied the works of Monet or other famous artists you of course wouldn't copy their work completely!  So remember to do the same when you find scrapbooking sites with good examples of pages that have been made.  You might really study how they've made certain words stand out or how a combination of colors or patterns can be very attractive, but you still don't want to completely mirror what everyone else has done.  Remember this when you find scrapbooking sites because it is a common mistake that many people make.

Another mistake that many people make when they find scrapbooking sites is to hesitate when it comes to sharing their own tips and pointers.  Especially those who are new to the hobby may have some self doubt as to whether or not they have anything useful to share but keep in mind that very often scrappers typically can use just about any pointer they get; while they may not use the tip or technique exactly it might inspire them in some other way!  You might share how you made a mockup of a campfire with toothpicks and red tissue paper for a camping page, and another scrapper takes that idea and does something very similar with twigs and some red foil.  Those who find scrapbooking sites useful for such tips and pointers aren't really concerned with whether or not the instructions they get are complete or exactly what they want; getting inspiration so that they can come up with their own ideas is a big part of the fun of scrapbooking!  Just like you won't be copying their pages when you find scrapbooking sites, they won't be looking at your suggestions and tips as if they need to be absolutely complete to be useful.

When you do find scrapbooking sites you want to be careful that it's not anything more than just a sales page.  While it is good to have pages that offer new products these sales pages don't always offer good tips and techniques, especially for doing things on your own.  They may have templates and suggestions for how to use their kits and their products, but this just isn't the same as having real suggestions for how to do things on one's own.  It's usually good to find scrapbooking sites that have boards and forums that allow users to post their own creations and to talk freely with other scrappers about their own tips and techniques.

If you are looking to find scrapbooking sites that offer products for sale you're probably going to have a wealth of options, but don't let yourself get overwhelmed.  It's too easy to find that you have just so many options that you can't make a decision as to what to buy and what to use.  Be selective and start with just a few things and go back later to purchase more.  When you do find scrapbooking sites that offer just what you want you can easily break the budget getting not just papers but elements, embellishments, decorations, and so many other items!  As budget friendly as scrapbooking may be it does still cost some money, so be careful.  You can easily find scrapbooking sites that offer many different items and elements so don't let yourself get overwhelmed or too tempted.

Sometimes you can find scrapbooking sites that advertise crops or gatherings for scrappers and hobbyists where they all get together and have an instructor or instructors help them create new pages or that will demonstrate new products to be used.  These crops can be great fun for any scrapper no matter how long they've been involved with the hobby.  If you do find scrapbooking sites that advertise crops be sure to research it thoroughly to see what it offers for the fee you need to pay.  Some are just for one day and some are for an entire weekend, so make sure you get your money's worth.  If you find scrapbooking sites that advertise these crops see what other attendees have to say about them - those who have been there before may leave comments on the forums or boards about how fun they were or what could have been improved.

So when you find scrapbooking sites don't hesitate to get all the information and pointers you need to make your hobby more enjoyable, but don't hesitate to share with others as well.
