Back to school! Three words that probably every child hates and every parent loves. But even the most reluctant child can be encouraged to have a better attitude toward getting back to class if they learn to look forward to the experience, and one thing parents can do is encourage them to use some back to school scrapbook paper to make up their own pages and collections. This way they're reminded that school is about more than books and learning but is also about friends, hobbies, and all those other great extracurricular activities as well!
Choosing back to school scrapbook paper really doesn't need to be as difficult as some would make it out to be; most parents make the mistake of thinking that it needs to be completely school-related to be appropriate. But remember that the best part of scrapbooking is making your pages personal and unique, just to you or your child. So pick some back to school scrapbook paper that really expresses their personality or that celebrates the things they love about school. Is it a particular activity like drama, band, choir, soccer, or something else? There are a lot of paper choices that really fit these themes but that aren't necessarily sold as back to school scrapbook paper. Take your time to browse your scrapbook retailer or supplier and find what you and your child are really drawn to and find attractive.
You can also use something just plain silly or that really fits his or her personality for their back to school scrapbook paper. If they want a particular color scheme or are just drawn to a particular theme then go ahead and use that rather than thinking that because it doesn't fit their school colors or some other template that it's not going to work.
Be sure to get your child involved when you use your back to school scrapbook paper to create a page or a book. Use pictures of their friends so that they can think about the fun and enjoyable parts of school. Have them think about upcoming plans they have for the school year, such as a field trip or play they're in or recital. By concentrating on the fun aspects of the school year you'll make a great scrapbook and have your child excited about being back to school as well.
