Digital Scrapbooking Instructions Using Quark Xpress

You like the idea of digital scrapbooking and as such would like to use the Quark Xpress software that you have to create interesting pages. In fact, you would prefer to make each scrapbook page entirely through the software, and then just print and laminate the pages in your actual scrapbook. This is something that will be easy to do if you follow some digital scrapbooking instructions.

Digital Scrapbooking Instruction #1: Place All of Your Photos in a Folder

One of the most important things you need to do is make sure you have all of your pictures for your scrapbook in one place. There is nothing more annoying than having to search through many different picture folders in a search for pictures to use in your digital scrapbook project. So, an important digital scrapbooking instruction to follow is to go through all your files, select the ones you need, and place it all into a folder on your desktop.

Digital Scrapbooking Instruction #2: Start with the Hardest Things First

When you are working on a digital scrapbooking project, it is best to get the hardest part completed first in terms of any designing you want to do. This way, the remainder of your scrapbooking project can be stress-free, and can make all the difference in how your project looks!

Digital Scrapbooking Instruction #3: Make Sure Your Pictures Are Properly Sized

This is something that many people seem to overlook, in that while designing things for their scrapbooking, they think that simply making any picture file larger to fit the overall project design will work. However, once they have made an originally smaller picture larger, they wonder why it looks pixilated. Thus, save yourself some time by making sure you use software to resize the photos or use high-res pictures to begin with.

Digital Scrapbooking Instruction #4: Covert Your Project to a PDF

When you are done working on each page, do not just save it as a Quark Xpress file. After all, you might want to send the completed page to someone, and cannot do so if that person does not have that software. So be sure to use the menu to convert the file to a PDF, and from there you can also convert the PDF to a JPEG file if you have that conversion software.
